The ponderings of Lizzie and Hannah

Dear all, (and this is particularly addressed to a couple of the anonymous 'commenters'),
.
We were a little vexed on Monday to see a couple of the comments posted after the Telegraph article was released. There were a couple of people that think that what Lizzie is doing is 'wrong' and that she is 'sending out a bad message'. Of course everybody is entitled to their own opinion about this challenge and in fact we think it's good for us to know that the support for it is not 100% positive, so we'd like to hear more from those people.
.
Would it be possible for you to e-mail hannah@hannahshergold.com and expand a little on what you said in your comments. We'd like to know what your own situation is, whether you yourself are anorexic and if so, whether you are in hospital. Why do you not think that anybody can attempt to tackle this disease without hospital? Obviously it's a method that hasn't been tried before as far as we know and so yes, it is unproven, but is it not worth trying everything possible to try and gain an understanding of recovery based at home rather than in the false environment of hospital?
.
That's the rationale behind what we're trying to do really. It may not work, and even if it does work, it wouldn't necessarily work for everyone. We're trying to make the most of Lizzie's 'traits' - high achiever, hates failing tasks in front of people, can excel at challenges laid in front of her etc. - and use them in the most productive way possible.
.
Please get in touch. We genuinely would love to hear from you to hear the other opinions that may be floating about out there. Your e-mails will remain anonymous if you ask for them to be but we may summarize what you put forward and put it in the blog for everyone to have a gander.
.
Thanks all, looking forward to hearing from you.
.

Sorry to hear you've had negative comments. I'd be interested for those people to expand on their reasons. I think you are doing a good thing, and you both know that if hospital is needed that will be the way. But it is not the only way, and often not the preferable way.

Hannah, I'm also going to e-mail you. I am proof that it CAN be done without hospital, and I would like to offer my own support from experience if it can be useful.

Dear Lizzie and Hannah,

Please hang in there! Of course there is a way outside of the duck-feeding chains called ED units.

I will steer now for a head-on collision with the establishment. To amuse you I will classify myself as esoteric anorexic. And, sorry Cardinal and Priory, but anorexia is NOT an illness at all. It is both purifying and cleansing mechanism and defence against obesity. So is bulimia. I am talking about the real anorexia and bulimia, not the fashionable “cool to have” ones.

The ancient esoteric knowledge teaches us that we have bodies with 7 layers – physical, energy, emotional, mental etc. The scientists teach us that the atom has electrons, protons and neutrons. Have you seen an electron or a proton? Neither me, but we believe them. Do we? So pretend for a moment that you believe in what I am going to write.

Our physical organs – stomach, pancreas, liver and kidneys are processing matter and energy from all 7 layers of existence and, more important, they don’t distinguish between the layers. I will back my thought with the quantum mechanic’s principle of wave-particle duality. The energy coming down to – say the stomach could be from both sides of the scale – very positive like falling madly in love and very negative. It is well known fact that people in love tend to forget to eat, but the energy that they process is charging their bodies and raising their vibrations. While the negative ones are poisoning our bodies and materialise in time in cancer, fibrosis and ulcers. Where the negative thoughts and emotions are coming from is another question.

So Lizzie, when you say that you are full, that your solar plexus is hard and painful and you are gagging, because you can’t swallow this is correct, as your body is busy processing emotions and thoughts and just can’t take food on top of it.

The solution? – Blast-off and disperse the negative energy from the body, so it can process physical food and nourish itself. My own secret weapon to do so is with music synchronised with converted sound to light coloured lights…in a giant amplifier made of the most mysterious substance on Earth - water. Would you like to try?

Stay positive, smile and sing!

Love, Hristina Koleva

Hi Lizzie,
Read the article via the internet and a friend of mine has saved the paper for me. I thought it was basically a positive piece but I was amazed at the details that were incorrect. I know you have already mentioned the weight mistake but I am sure that you have been married longer than 3 years! I know for sure that Dad passed away nearly 7 years ago and not 3 as stated. You would think that they would be able to get these basic facts right!

Unfortunately, by increasing the publicity of your quest, you are invariably going to get negative and even odd replies. However we are all different and only you know what works for you. Everyone likes to think that they know best but I believe you should carry on with what you feel is the best for you.

Looking forward to seeing you next week at Mim's

Love Suey

Lizzie and Hannah: Good luck. But Lizzie, I have to say that all the talking and writing and anxiety in the world won't get around the fact that for you to gain weight, you have to eat more. If Hannah won't make you eat (as people in a hospital would), and you don't do it on your own, then you will not gain weight and you will not get better.
